Background The prevalence of fungal infection is increasing globally due to an increase in the immunocompromised and aging population. We investigated epidemiological changes fungemia one major centers Medina over seven years period with 87,447 admissions. Methods Retrospective search records for causative agents inpatients at King Fahad Hospital (KFH) 2013–2019. Fungal-positive blood cultures, demographic, treatment data were extracted. Results A total 331 episodes proven by culture identified 46 patients. annual increased from 0.072 2013 1.546 patients per 1,000 2019. mean age was 56 years, 62% occurred females. Samples central incubated aerobically yielded highest rate, accounting 55% ( n = 182). Among yeast species, Candida parapsilosis responsible number 37% 122), followed glabrata (32%; 107), Candid albicans (29%; 94), Cryptococcus neoformans (1%; 4). molds, Lichtheimia Absidia) species most common 3).
